2019 is a fun mix of countries doing completely different things. China brings The Untamed, the long fantasy epic tagged as bromance, plus another stretch of the animated Mo Dao Zu Shi. Taiwan offers two parts of the HIStory anthology, Make Our Days Count and Trapped. Thailand shows up with Dark Blue Kiss, Theory of Love, the short form If I Love A Boy and a web novel, North: How Much Is Your Love?
And then there is Hong Kong with Twilight’s Kiss, a feature film about two men who meet later in life. It is a quiet, grown up story and a lovely change of pace from campus romance.
My tip: if you have a long weekend, The Untamed is the big commitment of this year. If you only have an evening, go for Twilight’s Kiss. And if you want classic Thai campus feelings, Theory of Love and Dark Blue Kiss are waiting for you.
