Most Thai Girls’ Love casts are assembled from people who came up entirely inside Thailand: a studio’s own trainee scheme, a talent search, a modelling contract. Her route ran through a Korean and Thai co-ed group instead, which is unusual twice over. Co-ed idol groups are rare in the Korean system to begin with, and a Thai performer training inside it and then returning to Thai screen work is rarer still.

What she is doing now is a tighter loop. Star Hunter signs her to a girl group, then casts that girl group’s members in a series it produces for WeTV. The company owns both the performer and the show, so the drama doubles as promotion for the group and the group doubles as a ready-made cast. It is the same arrangement several Thai agencies now run, and it is why the line between an idol roster and a drama cast keeps thinning.
