Kate Pang
BIOGRAPHY
Kate Pang (Chinese: 龐蕾馨; born 11 March 1983 in Taiwan) is an actor and television host who has spent almost her entire career in Singapore. She was born Pang Xin-yi (龐心怡) and later changed her name legally to Kate Pang Lei-xin.
She worked as a model in Taiwan before auditioning for Mediacorp, which signed her, and she has been working since 2008. Her television credits include Devotion (2011, twenty-five episodes), the police procedural I’m Madam! (2019, thirteen episodes) and I Believe I Can Fly (2025, twenty episodes), alongside single-episode appearances in A Tale of 2 Cities (2011), 爱情风险 (2013) and The Accidental Influencer (2024). Her films are The Bird Who Saved the World (2012), When Ghost Meets Zombie (2019), The Uniform (2025), Deadline (2025) and the undated Will You Still Be My Friend. Twelve credits are on her record in total.
She left Mediacorp as a full-time artiste on 31 October 2017 and has taken work on a project basis since. Outside acting she runs a media company founded in 2016, now called Kandie Media, and in May 2021 opened a Sichuan restaurant in Singapore with the host Marcus Chin, followed by a second outlet.
Her first work in this genre came in 2026, when she took the role of Peggy in all thirteen episodes of Connecting to You (整個世界,只有你連上了我), the Taiwanese boys’ love series made by GrX Studio with Force Films. It began on 14 August 2026 and is carried by Viki, GagaOOLala, MyVideo, friDay Video and iQIYI International. She is billed eighth.
BLGLFlix editorial view
What she represents is worth stating clearly. She is forty-three, she has spent nearly two decades in mainstream Singaporean television, and Connecting to You is the first queer romance she has been in. That is the shape of a genre growing up. A format that once cast almost entirely young unknowns is now hiring working veterans for the adult roles around the couple, which is how ordinary television is made and is not how BL was made ten years ago. Her being billed eighth is the point, not a slight.
Two conflicts are left standing rather than papered over. Her nationality is described differently by different sources: her structured biography calls her Singaporean and Taiwanese, while the encyclopedia entry calls her Taiwanese and based in Singapore, and the linked structured record lists Taiwanese citizenship only. Both are kept on the page rather than one being chosen, because a change of citizenship cannot be evidenced either way. Her birthplace is the second: one source gives Taipei, the encyclopedia gives Taiwan and says she moved to Taipei later, to study. Taiwan is used here, which both sources support.
Her marriage and her children are deliberately left off this page. Both are publicly documented, and neither belongs on a drama reference site. The same rule applies to every profile here.
