Kate Pang, the Singaporean and Taiwanese actress who plays Peggy in the BL series Connecting to You

Kate Pang

BIOGRAPHY

Kate Pang (Chinese: 龐蕾馨; born 11 March 1983 in Taiwan) is an actor and television host who has spent almost her entire career in Singapore. She was born Pang Xin-yi (龐心怡) and later changed her name legally to Kate Pang Lei-xin.

She worked as a model in Taiwan before auditioning for Mediacorp, which signed her, and she has been working since 2008. Her television credits include Devotion (2011, twenty-five episodes), the police procedural I’m Madam! (2019, thirteen episodes) and I Believe I Can Fly (2025, twenty episodes), alongside single-episode appearances in A Tale of 2 Cities (2011), 爱情风险 (2013) and The Accidental Influencer (2024). Her films are The Bird Who Saved the World (2012), When Ghost Meets Zombie (2019), The Uniform (2025), Deadline (2025) and the undated Will You Still Be My Friend. Twelve credits in all.

She left Mediacorp as a full-time artiste on 31 October 2017 and has taken work on a project basis since. Outside acting she runs a media company founded in 2016, now called Kandie Media, and in May 2021 opened a Sichuan restaurant in Singapore with the host Marcus Chin, followed by a second outlet.

Her first work in this genre came in 2026, when she took the role of Peggy across the twelve episode main run of Connecting to You (整個世界,只有你連上了我), the Taiwanese boys’ love series made by GrX Studio with Force Films. The main run aired from 14 August to 11 September 2026, followed by a special episode on 18 September 2026, and the series is carried by Viki, GagaOOLala, MyVideo, friDay Video and iQIYI International. She is billed eighth.

Kate Pang joined the Taiwanese series Connecting to You as Peggy in 2026 after a career that began in Singapore television in 2008.

Born in Taiwan and based in Singapore, she was signed by Mediacorp after working as a model, and she has taken work on a project basis since leaving as a full-time artiste on 31 October 2017. Connecting to You is her first boys’ love series, and she is billed eighth in its cast.

Seven of her twelve credits date from after she left Mediacorp full-time, among them I’m Madam! in 2019, three titles in 2025 and this series in 2026. Alongside acting she runs Kandie Media and a Sichuan restaurant in Singapore opened with the host Marcus Chin.

In my view her path is worth following for its direction. A model from Taiwan became a Singapore television regular, stepped away from a full-time contract and has kept acting by choosing projects one at a time. Peggy in a Taiwanese series brings her back to the place she was born, and I am curious to see how she plays it after so many years of Singapore drama.
