Masanari Wada (Japanese: 和田雅成, Wada Masanari) is a Japanese actor born on 5 September 1991 in Osaka Prefecture. He is signed to Ruby Parade.
He plays Kinji Kataoka, the young yakuza boss at the centre of the 2025 Fuji TV series The Journey to Killing You (あなたを殺す旅), opposite Hiroto Takahashi.
Wada performed with the Osaka actors’ unit P.A.G.E. before going solo in 2013 and moving his base to Tokyo. Much of his career has been on stage, including the long-running Touken Ranbu stage and film series, and he has held regular television roles such as Terebi Engeki Success-so from 2019 and Junpei Shiranami in Kamen Rider Revice Legacy. He also began releasing music in September 2024.

Masanari Wada played Junpei Shiranami in Kamen Rider Revice Legacy and has worked the long-running Touken Ranbu stage and film series, which adapts a game for live theatre. Neither is a prestige credit and both are serious training: tokusatsu teaches physical performance under a schedule, 2.5D teaches stamina in front of an audience that already knows the character.
He did not start in Tokyo. He performed with the Osaka actors’ unit P.A.G.E., went solo in 2013 and moved his base to the capital, which is a real cost and a real bet for a regional performer. Regular television followed, including Terebi Engeki Success-so from 2019.
In The Journey to Killing You he plays Kinji Kataoka, a young yakuza boss, for Fuji TV opposite Hiroto Takahashi. He also started releasing music in September 2024, which at thirty-three is late enough to be a choice rather than a plan someone else made for him.
