Getsunova

Getsunova (Thai: เก็ตสึโนวา) is a Thai four piece band from Bangkok, formed in 2008. The name joins the Japanese word getsu, meaning moon, with nova.

The members are Prakarn Raiva on lead vocals, Natee Osathanugrah on guitar, Panoth Khunprasert on guitar and synthesizers, and Komkadech Sangwattanaroj on drums. Panoth, known as Noth, holds a profile of his own in this catalogue.

The band works in pop rock with experimental pop and electronic rock elements, and has released through Sanamluang, Duckbar and, since 2015, White Music.

Getsunova’s recorded output has grown slowly and deliberately. The EP Electric Ballroom appeared on Sanamluang in 2009, The First Album followed in 2016 through Duckbar and White Music, and the album ทำมะดา arrived in 2019. Later releases include the collection 2.5 in 2020, Thailander in 2022, and the EP The Grateful Sorrow in 2025, which the band supported with a fan meet concert.

Alongside their own catalogue the four have worked widely with other Thai artists, from Praewa of Yellow Fang and Violette Wautier to Youngohm, Jannine Weigel, Thongchai McIntyre and the luk thung singer Tai Orathai. Their 2019 song พระเอกจำลอง, written for Theory of Love, gave the band a lasting presence in BL soundtrack listening.
