fromis_9 (Korean: 프로미스나인) is a South Korean girl group from Seoul, formed through the 2017 reality programme Idol School and debuting on 24 January 2018 with the EP To. Heart. The name is given as a contraction of From Idol School.

The current members are Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung and Baek Ji-heon. Jang Gyu-ri, who placed ninth on Idol School, was a member from the debut until her contract with Pledis Entertainment expired in July 2022; she also works as an actress and holds a profile of her own in this catalogue.

The group has been with the label Asnd since January 2025 and works in K-pop with teen pop and synth pop elements.

fromis_9 built their catalogue steadily after the 2018 debut, with Fun Factory reaching number two in 2019 and My Little Society number three in 2020. A first music show trophy arrived in September 2021 with Talk & Talk, shortly after the group moved to Pledis Entertainment. The 2024 release Supersonic reached number two on the Circle album chart. In January 2025 the group signed with Asnd and continued as a five piece, releasing the EP From Our 20’s in June 2025, taking Like You Better to first place on Music Bank on 4 July 2025 and setting out on their first world tour that year.
