Lin He-hsuan
BIOGRAPHY
Lin He-hsuan (Chinese: 林鶴軒; born 7 January 1991), billed on most Taiwanese productions under the stage name Da He (大鶴) and listed in English-language databases as Da-her Lin, is a Taiwanese screen and stage actor. He graduated from the Department of Drama at National Taiwan University of Arts.
His earliest screen credit is the 2013 comedy Campus Confidential. Two years later he appeared in the film Our Times (2015), credited simply as Da He. Through the second half of the 2010s he worked in supporting roles in Lion Pride (2017, 25 episodes), Secrets in the Hot Spring (2018), Big Three Dragons (2019) and A-Hu (2019).
In HIStory (2017), the Taiwanese anthology series, Lin appeared as Bai Chang-chang across four episodes. In 2019 he took the role of Chen Si-yuan in Someday or One Day.
He went on to appear in Get the Hell Out (2020), The Soul (2021), Marry My Dead Body (2023) and Dead Talents Society (2024), alongside dramatic work in Love On a Shoestring (2024, 24 episodes), The Cleaner (2024) and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (2025). In 2026 he has three series in circulation: Kung Fu, Agent from Above (8 episodes) and Connecting to You, in which he plays Jiang Chaonan.
Episode counts show where he carried the most screen time. Lion Pride in 2017 ran 25 episodes, and Love On a Shoestring in 2024 ran 24. Agent from Above in 2026 has eight. The year 2017 also holds his four-episode turn in HIStory, so it combined a long run with an anthology appearance. His earlier film work in Our Times in 2015 came two years after Campus Confidential, and both sit before the supporting television parts that followed.
He also works beyond acting, with stage performances and stage directing credits, short films, music videos and released singles. His television hosting includes the variety programmes 《大學生了沒》 and 《嗨！營業中》 season 2, as well as award ceremony hosting.
Lin He-hsuan’s two Boys’ Love credits, HIStory in 2017 and Connecting to You in 2026, sit nine years apart.
He appeared in four episodes of HIStory as Bai Chang-chang. Connecting to You aired its twelve episode main run from 14 August to 11 September 2026, followed by a special episode on 18 September 2026, with Lin as Jiang Chaonan.
The years between are filled with supernatural comedy and thriller work, from Get the Hell Out in 2020 to Dead Talents Society in 2024, and he has never been cast as one half of a Boys’ Love pair.
I read his career as that of a trained actor who says yes to a wide range of work. A drama school graduate who also directs for the stage, hosts variety programmes and releases singles is usually comfortable in front of a live audience, and I think that shows in how he handles a supporting part. If I were picking where to begin, I would try Marry My Dead Body first and then come to Connecting to You to see Jiang Chaonan.
