Sathanapong Limwongthong

Sathanapong Limwongthong (Thai: ศฐาณพงศ์ ลิ้มวงษ์ทอง), known by the nickname Nob (ณ็อบ), is a Thai director and producer. He directs Magic Move (2026, 10 episodes). He is, on the evidence of his own credit list, one of the very few pure specialists in this field: eleven verified boys’ love titles across a decade, and effectively nothing else.

He began directing in 2016 with Sweet Boy, four years before the Thai BL boom that most people date from 2gether. He directed Mind Memory in 2017, then returned to the genre and stayed in it: Hotel Stars (2019, 13 episodes), Gen Y (2020, 12 episodes), and then a remarkable 2022 in which he directed three separate BL productions, Only Love You, Mice, Ai Long Nhai (12 episodes) and La Cuisine (13 episodes).

Ai Long Nhai became a small franchise under him. He directed the series in 2022, then Ai Long Nhai: The Endless Love in 2023, a feature cut from the series material, and Ai Nhai, a special episode, the same year. He also directed Black Magic Mask (2023), which stands outside the genre entirely.

His recent work continues at the same pace: The Renovation (2024), Reloved (2025, 10 episodes, a romantic comedy built around a single father) and Magic Move (2026). He has moved into producing alongside directing, with producer credits on Panyi I Sea You (2026) and Behind the Screens (2026), and both director and producer credits on Televil, currently dated 2027.

Nob is the exception, and he is the more interesting case for exactly that reason: eleven titles, one genre, ten years, starting in 2016 when there was no boom to ride and no obvious career in it. Our own read is that this is the clearest marker yet that Thai BL has stopped being an opportunity and become a craft discipline. A genre only produces lifelong specialists once it is old enough and stable enough to support a career, and the fact that he was already there in 2016, before the money arrived, means he was not making a bet on a trend. He was just making the thing he makes.
