BIOGRAPHY
Tinna Simapaisal (ติณณา สิมะไพศาล) is a Thai screenwriter, and on the evidence of the public record this is the largest body of girls’ love television on any profile in this catalogue. Twelve credits are on file between 2019 and 2026, and four of them are GL series.
The non queer work is ordinary Thai television at ordinary Thai lengths: Love Beyond Frontier (อุบัติรักข้ามขอบฟ้า, 2019, thirteen episodes), The Sand Princess (เจ้าหญิงเม็ดทราย, 2019, fifteen), Unlucky Ploy (ชีช้ำกะหล่ำพลอย, 2020, twenty), Conniving Bedfellows (ชายแพศยา, 2023, eighteen), a screenstory credit on Start-Up (สตาร์ทอัพ, 2024, sixteen), the twenty two episode horror comedy 6th Sense Agency (บ้านผูกวิญญาณ, 2024) for Workpoint TV, Dear My Secretary (2025, sixteen) and The Sandy Effect (แซนดี้ ครูแสนดี, 2025, fourteen).
The first GL credit is The Loyal Pin (ปิ่นภักดิ์), sixteen episodes from 4 August 2024, adapted from a Mon Maew novel and produced by Idol Factory for Workpoint TV and YouTube. Kittisak Cheewasatjasakun directed. Sarocha Chankimha and Becky Armstrong lead.
Then, in 2026, three more, all eight episodes, all produced by North Star Entertainment and all carried by Channel 7 and iQIYI International:
- The Earth (วิวาห์ปฐพี), 24 January 2026. An heir returns to Chiang Rai from America when her stepfather falls into a coma.
- The Water (นทีร้อยเล่ห์), 21 March 2026. A hotel group heir meets a new receptionist with a talent for trouble.
- The Air (เสน่หาวาโย), 16 May 2026. A princess visiting Thailand becomes a target when a coup breaks out at home.
All three carry the classifications girls’ love (gl) and lesbian relationship, and two of them are also tagged lakorn. A fourth entry in the sequence, The Fire (โซ่รักอัคนี), followed on 11 July 2026, completing an elemental set released roughly every two months.
Beyond an IMDb identifier, nm13117792, the record is empty: no birth details, no biography, no accounts. Wikipedia covers the series this writer worked on but has no article on the writer, and an article about a series is not a source about a person.
BLGLFlix editorial view
Earth in January. Water in March. Air in May. Fire in July. Four girls’ love series in seven months, eight episodes each, from one production company, on Channel 7, with iQIYI International carrying them abroad. There is nothing else quite like it anywhere in the region.
Consider what Channel 7 is. It is one of Thailand’s mass audience terrestrial networks, the home of the lakorn, the format built for the largest and most conventional television audience the country has. Two of these four series carry the lakorn keyword themselves. This is not a streaming platform serving a niche or a specialist studio serving a fandom. It is the middle of Thai television, running a girls’ love series every eight weeks for most of a year.
It also settles a question that Thai queer commissioning keeps raising. Queer series are frequently ordered at eight episodes while the same writers’ mainstream work runs to twenty, thirty or forty two, which invites the reading that eight is a short leash. That reading does not survive this record. The Loyal Pin, made by a studio rather than a broadcaster, got sixteen. The eight episode figure is not a limit imposed on queer drama. It is the length of this particular Channel 7 strand, repeated deliberately, four times, because it is a format.
The other thing this record settles is who actually writes Thai GL. Not novelists, who supply the source. Not specialists either. A working television dramatist, with twenty two episode horror comedies and fifteen episode romances already on the record, wrote three girls’ love series inside five months in 2026 while the fourth went into production. Set that beside the writer of GAP, who also writes Channel 3 lakorns, and the writer of The Secret of Us, who has forty two episode period dramas on the same record. Three of Thailand’s most visible GL series were written by people whose day job is mainstream television, and that is the whole explanation for why Thai GL looks like television rather than like a fan project.
