Hakka TV and PTS. Those two channels are the reason this page matters. PTS is Taiwan’s public broadcaster and Hakka TV, run by the same public broadcasting group, is the only channel anywhere that transmits chiefly in Hakka. This is not a writer who drifted into television from fandom. This is someone commissioned by Taiwan’s public service drama sector, who also wrote a BL series for a streaming platform in the same year.

That closes a loop this site has been working around for several pages. We established that GagaOOLala stopped being only a distributor and became a producer, financing its own catalogue with a small standing team. What we could not see from those pages was where the writing labour came from. It comes from here: from the public broadcasters, from children’s franchise films, from minority language drama. Taiwan’s queer output is not staffed by a separate queer industry. It borrows the country’s public television writers, and 2026 is the year one of them wrote a PTS crime drama in July and a BL romance in August.

The six writer credit on The Fame is the other detail worth keeping. This site recorded a Thai writers’ room earlier, the unnamed GMMTV trio who wrote every episode of three separate series. Here is the Taiwanese public television equivalent, six names on one ten episode drama. Group authorship is normal in this industry and almost never discussed, because the credit that gets reported is the director’s.

And then the shape of Connecting to You itself, which becomes clearer with this page next to the Yu Jhi-han one. A director who came up making an eighteen minute short about a bathhouse janitor, co-writing with a public television dramatist, adapting a web novelist, financed by two small companies, sold to five platforms. That is not a studio product. It is an assembly, and the pieces were borrowed from four different corners of Taiwanese screen culture.
