Mo Dao Zu Shi Q (Donghua)
SYNOPSIS
Mo Dao Zu Shi Q (魔道祖师Q), released internationally as The Founder of Diabolism Q, is the chibi comedy spin-off of the Mo Dao Zu Shi donghua. It ran 30 short episodes of about three minutes each on Tencent Video between 31 July 2020 and 12 February 2021, produced by B.C May Pictures.
It is not part of the main story and does not continue it. The format is a set of gag shorts that take the cast of the main series, redraw them in chibi proportions and replay familiar moments as comedy: Lan Wangji flustered, Wei Wuxian pleased with himself, Jiang Yanli fussing over both of them.
It assumes you already know the story. Watched cold it is a string of jokes without setups; watched after the main donghua or The Untamed it works as an epilogue in a lighter register.
