Den Panuwat Inthawat
BIOGRAPHY
Den Panuwat Inthawat (Thai: เด่น ภาณุวัฒน์ อินทวัฒน์) is a Thai director, screenwriter, author and acting coach, and the director of the 2026 Domundi TV historical Boys’ Love series Love Upon a Time. He is an alumnus of the dramatic arts programme in the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s oldest university, formal theatre training that is unusual among directors working in the Thai BL industry, where most arrive from advertising, music video or assistant-director backgrounds.
His career began on the page rather than behind the camera. He wrote for War of Y (2022), then for two of the most discussed Thai Boys’ Love titles of 2023, Only Friends and Playboyy, followed by the anthology Tomorrow and I (2024), a run that placed him among the genre’s more prolific working screenwriters before he had directed anything at all.
The move into directing came with Domundi TV in 2025. He directed The Next Prince and its extended cut The Next Prince: Uncut, then Khemjira in the same year, and then Love Upon a Time in 2026, three consecutive Domundi productions, two of them starring the NetJJ pairing of Net Siraphop Manithikhun and JJ Radchapon Phornpinit. A further title, Still Holding up like the Moon, is listed as in production.
Love Upon a Time is the most technically demanding of the three: a dual-timeline adaptation of littlebbear96’s novel ภพเธอ that has to hold together a present-day frame and a four-hundred-year-old Ayutthaya Kingdom setting, with most of the principal cast playing two versions of the same person. He shares the writing credit for the series with May Piangpaitoon Satrawaha and Porndee Satrawaha, and Piangpaitoon is a fellow graduate of the same Chulalongkorn dramatic arts programme.
He also works in front of the camera occasionally, taking a guest role as a lecturer in Love Upon a Time itself and appearing as himself across the behind-the-scenes and documentary output for his own productions, as well as a guest appearance in War of Y (2022) and Deep Night: Behind the Scenes (2024). His teaching credit as an acting coach connects the two halves of the work: the training background feeds directly into how he is described in the industry.
