What happens

A Dog and a Plane (หมาเห่าเครื่องบิน; RTGS: Ma Hao Khrueang Bin, literally "a dog barks at an airplane") is a 2026 Thai boys' love romantic comedy set around an airport and the emergency services that ring it. Toto (Tay Tawan Vihokratana) is a scrappy, perpetually broke rescue-team leader and paramedic who measures his days in call-outs and unpaid bills. Kanit (New Thitipoom Techaapaikhun) is a polished, image-conscious flight attendant whose entire life is arranged to look effortless. A chaotic luggage mix-up throws the two of them together, and the title supplies the rest: it comes from a Thai expression for someone reaching toward a person or a world far above their own station, which is how Toto reads the distance between them.

Kanit's real problem is not the suitcase. Convinced his boyfriend is cheating on him, he hires the broke EMT to help him investigate, and a paid errand becomes a two-man surveillance operation carrying entirely the wrong emotional cargo. Around them, Akki (Mond Tanutchai Wijitvongtong) and Weha (Ryu Phudtripart Bhudthonamochai) generate complications of their own, while Beer (Tui Chayatorn Trairattanapradit), Lion (Oab Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang) and Zo (Pompam Niti Chaichitathorn) fill out a broad comic ensemble of colleagues and crew. The closer the polar-opposite pair get, the worse Toto's position becomes. He is being paid to find the truth, he has started to want one particular version of it, and he knows exactly how that would look if anyone said it out loud. A life-saving job slowly turns into a heart-saving one, and the moral dilemma at the centre is played for laughs until, gradually, it stops being funny.

Produced by GMMTV with Chamade Film and directed by Jojo Tichakorn Phukhaotong, the ten-episode series premiered on One31 on May 29, 2026, airing Fridays at 20:30, and also streamed on TrueVisions NOW, with internationally subtitled episodes on GMMTV's YouTube channel. It reunites the long-running TayNew pairing, and much of the show's pleasure comes from dropping that familiar chemistry into a scruffy workplace comedy, not a campus one, where the obstacles are shift rosters, unpaid rent and professional decorum. The opening theme, "Rescue You" (กู้ภัยกู้ใจ), is performed by Tay Tawan. Underneath the farce the series is about class as much as romance: what it costs to maintain an appearance, and what it takes to admit you cannot afford one.

TayNew are back, and this time one of them is broke. A Dog and a Plane drops Tay Tawan and New Thitipoom into an airport rom-com where the day jobs are paramedic and flight attendant, the luggage gets swapped, and the plot quickly turns into a two-man spy mission with all the wrong feelings in the carry-on.

The Dog Barks, the Plane Flies

The Thai title, หมาเห่าเครื่องบิน, literally a dog barking at an airplane, is an expression for reaching toward someone far above your station. That is exactly how Tay's Toto sees it: a scrappy rescue-team leader who measures his days in call-outs and unpaid bills, looking up at New's Kanit, a polished flight attendant whose whole life is arranged to look effortless. Opposites attract, class gap, workplace comedy. The dog has no chance. Or does he?

Hired to Spy, Falling Anyway

Kanit is convinced his boyfriend is cheating, so he pays the broke EMT to help him investigate. A paid errand. Strictly business. Except Toto starts wanting one particular answer, and he knows how bad that would look if anyone said it out loud. The moral dilemma is played for laughs until, slowly, it is not. If you like your rom-com with a secret ticking under the jokes, buckle up.

The Crew Around Them

GMMTV went big on the ensemble. Mond Tanutchai Wijitvongtong as Akki and Ryu Phudtripart Bhudthonamochai as Weha bring complications of their own, and Tui Chayatorn Trairattanapradit, Oab Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang and Pompam Niti Chaichitathorn fill out the colleagues and crew. Rescue station on one side, cabin crew on the other, so there is always someone to pick as your secret favourite. Ploynira Hiruntaveesin as Pailin and Thipakorn Thitathan as Por are in the mix too. And a little trivia for the patient: GMMTV first named the series at its lineup event on 26 November 2024, and it took until 29 May 2026 for the premiere to land. Worth the wait for a TayNew reunion, if you ask me.

Boarding Information

Ten episodes of about 52 minutes, Fridays at 20:30 on One31 from 29 May 2026, also on TrueVisions NOW, with subtitled episodes on GMMTV's YouTube channel. Rated 13+. Jojo Tichakorn Phukhaotong directs and also shares the script credit. Tay sings the opening theme, "Rescue You", and both leads appear on the soundtrack. Craving more of the pair? Go back to Cherry Magic, their 2023 office romance, and enjoy watching them swap a supernatural gift for a very human paid job.
