Kapook Ploynira Hiruntaveesin
BIOGRAPHY
Kapook Ploynira Hiruntaveesin (Thai: กระปุก พลอยนิรา หิรัญทวีศิลป์; born October 29, 1994) is a Thai actor signed to GMMTV. She plays Phailin Piengporjai in A Dog and a Plane (2026), the GMMTV boys’ love series led by Tay Tawan Vihokratana and New Thitipoom Techaapaikhun.
She was born in Bangkok to a family that includes an older sister, Patcharee “Join” Tubthong, a former actor, and a younger brother. She attended Prasarnmit Demonstration School (Srinakharinwirot University) for secondary education and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Bangkok University. She began booking commercials at age fourteen. In October 2023, she legally changed her name from Phatchara Tubthong to Ploynira Hiruntaveesin, saying she wanted a name search “for peace of mind” after finding her old name associated with inaccurate information online.
She made her acting debut in a supporting role in Senior Secret Love: My Lil Boy (2016) and has since built a GMMTV filmography, including Jane in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021), Mim in The Player (2021), Judy in The Trainee (2024), and Pim in Pluto (2024), before joining the cast of A Dog and a Plane (2026) and the upcoming Enemies with Benefits.
A Dog and a Plane was directed by Tichakorn Phukhaotong and ran for ten episodes on ONE 31 from 29 May to 31 July 2026. The story begins when Khanit, a flight attendant, and Toto, who works on a rescue team, end up with each other’s bags. After Toto agrees to work off the damage done to Khanit’s belongings, he is given a task: find out whether Khanit’s boyfriend is being unfaithful. What starts as an investigation turns into a growing closeness between the two.
Kapook was credited as Phatchara Tubthong until October 2023, so her filmography runs under two names.
Credits from her 2016 debut onward sit under the earlier name, and later work appears under Ploynira Hiruntaveesin. She appears in A Dog and a Plane and Pluto.
In 2024 she was nominated for Celebrity Creator of the Year at the TikTok Awards Thailand.
Split by the name change, her listed credits divide evenly. Senior Secret Love: My Lil Boy in 2016 and the two 2021 titles, F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers and The Player, were made before October 2023. The Trainee and Pluto in 2024 and A Dog and a Plane in 2026 came after it. Three roles sit on each side, and she played two of them, Jane and Mim, in the same year. The commercials she began booking at fourteen came roughly seven years before her 2016 acting debut, so the work on camera started early and the drama credits followed. Her character names across the list, Jane, Mim, Judy, Pim and Phailin, are all short, and the TikTok nomination in 2024 sits in the same year as both of her post-change series.
In my view, the most interesting stretch of her work is 2024, when two different series, The Trainee and Pluto, carried her name in the same year, and she followed them with A Dog and a Plane two years later. That is a steady run of parts across different stories, and it tells me she is being cast for what she does with a scene, not for one type of role. If you are new to her, I would start with Pluto to see her in a longer story, then watch A Dog and a Plane to see how she works as part of the supporting cast.
