BIOGRAPHY
Manow Waneepan Ounphoklang (Thai: วณีพรรณ อ้วนโพธิ์กลาง) is a Thai television screenwriter working almost entirely for GMMTV. She is one of the three credited writers on Cherry Magic (2023), the Thai adaptation of Yuu Toyota’s Boys’ Love manga, alongside Mook Jarinee Thanomyat and PingPong Suwanun Pohgudsai. She was born in Thailand.
Her surname is also romanised as Huaphoklang and Auanpoklang, and her given name as Waneewan.
Her earliest credits sit at the turn of 2016-2017, on the GMMTV comedy franchise Diary of Tootsies, and she took a co-producer credit on the film Mr. Hurt in 2017. She then wrote for Wake Up Ladies The Series, Notification and Social Syndrome (2018), Dive, One Night Steal and the feature Tootsies & The Fake (2019), and Turn Left Turn Right (2020).
Her credits since 2021 include 46 Days, 55:15 Never Too Late and F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021); The Three GentleBros and Good Old Days (2022); This I Promise You, Don’t Touch My Gang, Wednesday Club and Cherry Magic (2023); and Peaceful Property (2024). F4 Thailand and 55:15 Never Too Late ran to sixteen episodes each, and Wake Up Ladies to twenty-three.
Her recent work includes MuTeLuv and its spin-off MuTeLuv: Fist Foot Fusion, I Love ‘A Lot Of’ You, Where I Wanna Be and the film Diva, la Vie (2025), plus the feature Beauty and the Beat (2025) and Love You Teacher (2026).
Good Old Days gathers six stories over twelve episodes, two to a story, all set around an antique shop where a buyer pays for the hidden value of an object rather than its price. It aired on GMM 25 and Disney+ Hotstar from 10 August to 15 September 2022, with Perawat Sangpotirat, Vachirawit Chivaaree and Tawan Vihokratana among its principal cast.
F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers premiered on GMM 25 on 18 December 2021, directed by Patha Thongpan and adapted from Yoko Kamio’s manga Hana Yori Dango. Peaceful Property aired from 28 August to 13 November 2024 on GMM 25 and Viu, twelve episodes directed by Jarupat Kannula. In it Thitipoom Techaapaikhun plays Home, who inherits a large amount of land and buildings that are all said to be haunted, and Tawan Vihokratana plays Peach, a chef who can see ghosts after an accident.
Cherry Magic reunited those two actors as Achi and Karan. It ran for twelve episodes of 45 minutes on GMM 25 and Viu from 9 December 2023 to 2 March 2024, with Panachai Sriariyarungruang, Jiruntanin Trairattanayon, Ployshompoo Supasap, Harit Cheewagaroon, Thanaporn Wagprayoon, Sereeroj Jayaphorn and Keita Tanaka in supporting roles.
Mook Jarinee Thanomyat shares five of her writing credits, from Notification in 2018 to Cherry Magic in 2023.
The five are Notification (2018), 55:15 Never Too Late (2021), F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021), Peaceful Property (2024) and the Cherry Magic remake (2023), where PingPong Suwanun Pohgudsai completes the team.
She also overlaps with PingPong Suwanun Pohgudsai on 46 Days and F4 Thailand, both from 2021. Her only credit outside writing is the co-producer role on Mr. Hurt (2017).
What I notice on her list is stamina and range together. A twenty-three episode run on Wake Up Ladies, two sixteen-episode assignments in 2021 and feature films in 2019 and 2025 show a writer who is comfortable at any length. If I were choosing a starting point I would watch Peaceful Property for its comedy, then go back to Good Old Days to see how she handles a story that has to land in two episodes.
