All three leads of this series came out of the idol system. That is the production’s casting policy, not a coincidence of three biographies.

Sae Byeol is in WAKER, which debuted in January 2024 under Howling Entertainment with the mini-album Mission of School. His co-leads on Love Class 3 came through the same machinery: one from three Thai and Korean survival programmes without a debut, one from a group that went back into competition three years after debuting.

The number on his own record is unusually exact. He placed 92nd on Produce X 101 in 2019, eliminated in the fifth round. Very few people in this catalogue have a documented position that far down a ranking, because that information normally disappears the moment a show ends.

He plays Kim Hyun-jae, an idol carrying anxiety underneath a public image, and he sings on the soundtrack as well. Five years passed between that elimination and a debut, and another two before this part. The record does not present that as inspiring, only as what happened.
