He had already debuted in a group, and he still went back onto a survival show three years later. That is the part worth understanding.

Lee Woo-jin was a trainee for about nine months before appearing in the pre-debut project group TEEN TEEN in 2019, competed on Produce X 101 the same year, then debuted properly with GHOST9 in September 2020. In 2023 he was a contestant on Peak Time, a competition for groups that already exist.

That second show is the interesting one. Debuting is not the finish line in Korean pop; groups without a hit go back into competition formats to buy visibility they cannot otherwise afford. It is a public admission that the first attempt did not land, and a lot of acting careers start from exactly that pressure.

His acting debut, in 2026, is Jae-min in Love Class 3: a former idol trainee rebuilding a reputation. The overlap with his own position is not subtle, and productions cast that way because the audience reads it instantly.
