Yu-Hao Su

Su Yu-hao’s credits span Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and the United States, and only one of them is classed as Girls’ Love.

Of his nine credits, Fragrance of the First Flower is the one with Girls’ Love classification, and Dreams in Nightmares carries an LGBT keyword. The rest are independent and festival films, made with Long Moment Films and other companies.

His producing credit on the series belongs to the first season. The second season, with twelve episodes, arrived on 18 February 2025.

The year 2021 holds more of his work than any other. Kiss, Hero Mode, The Cloud in Her Room, Test Pattern and Fragrance of the First Flower all date from that year, and each asks for a different job: producer on Kiss, location manager on Hero Mode, line producer on The Cloud in Her Room, producer and line producer on Test Pattern, and producer across six episodes of the series. The same year crosses three regions, from Taiwan to the United States, with a Chinese and Hong Kong film in between. Test Pattern also links the two ends of his recent list, since Shatara Michelle Ford directed it in 2021 and directs Dreams in Nightmares, on which he is executive producer, five years later in 2026. That is a move from line producer to executive producer with the same director.

In my view the most striking thing is how much of the list sits outside genre television. Su Yu-hao has produced in Taiwan, worked as line producer on a Chinese and Hong Kong film and produced an American independent feature, and a girls’ love series is one credit among several regions. Line producing is the job of making a shoot run to a budget and a schedule, and the credits show a producer whom very different productions have trusted with it.
