Liao Wei-po
BIOGRAPHY
Liao Wei-po (Chinese: 廖偉博, also credited as Weipo Liao; born 12 September 1994) is a Taiwanese actor whose television career so far consists of three boys’ love series.
He came to acting sideways. He graduated from National Chin-Yi University of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering, then entered the profession through the second cohort of the 華流之星 actor training programme, which is where his career formally begins.
His first significant credit is Yan Zhao-gang in Be Loved in House: I Do (約．定), the twelve-episode Taiwanese BL that ran on KKTV from 20 May to 29 July 2021, produced by SPO Entertainment with BRAINS. Two years later he played Guo Zheng-hong across ten episodes of Stay by My Side (免疫屏蔽), the supernatural BL that ran on Vidol from 7 July to 1 September 2023, produced by Vidol with Sanlih E-Television. In 2026 he plays Xiao Lai across the twelve episode main run of Connecting to You (整個世界，只有你連上了我), the GrX Studio series directed by Yu Jhi-han, which aired from 14 August to 11 September 2026 and was followed by a special episode on 18 September 2026.
Around those he has kept working in shorter forms. He appeared in the 2021 special-education short film My Secret Partner (我的秘密夥伴) as Chen Bo-han, in a 2023 student festival short, and on stage in a 2020 production of Shamlet (莎姆雷特). He has also appeared in music videos in 2024 and 2026. A television film, Calls of Desire (晚安，晚安), is in post-production with no release date set; he is credited as Yung Ming Lin.
Liao Wei-po has played a named role in three Taiwanese boys’ love series between 2021 and 2026, each released through a different platform.
The first ran on KKTV in 2021, the second on Vidol with Sanlih E-Television in 2023, and the third is the GrX Studio series Connecting to You in 2026, which he joined as Xiao Lai for its twelve episode main run.
His route into acting began with a mechanical engineering degree, followed by the second cohort of the 華流之星 actor training programme. Stay by My Side, his ten-episode 2023 series, is a supernatural BL in which the lead begins hearing ghost voices after a funeral.
What I like about this start is that nothing in it looks planned from a drama school syllabus. An engineering graduate who trained through a programme and then took three series in five years has built his list one part at a time, and I find that more convincing than a long list of cameos. If you are new to his work, I would begin with Stay by My Side, because its supernatural setting makes it the most distinct of the three.
