Namphueng Natharika Thamapreedanan

BIOGRAPHY

Namphueng Natharika Thamapreedanan (Thai: ณัฐริกา ธรรมปรีดานันท์, born 26 April 1978) is a Thai actor, model and former news presenter. Her nickname, Namphueng, is the Thai word for honey, and she has used it professionally for her entire career. She is Thai of Chinese descent through her father’s side, her paternal grandfather having emigrated from China to Thailand, and has Lao ancestry from Luang Prabang on her mother’s side. She is the youngest of three children.

She studied at Udomsuksa Ladprao School and took a bachelor’s degree in communication arts at Bangkok University. She came into the industry as a presenter on Channel 7, and it was the channel’s executive Surang Prempreedi who invited her to move into drama. Her first acting credit is the 1994 Channel 7 lakorn Silamanee, in which she played Priyapa.

She worked steadily through the 1990s in titles such as Mongkut Dok Som (1996), Nang Lakhon (1997) and Baan Butsababan (1997), and through the 2000s in Chan Chue Sila (2001), Rabiang Rak (2005) and Chao Bao Kon Krua (2005). Late in that decade came Sawan Biang (2008) as Leela Sophonrat, then Sap Phusa, Yok Lai Mek and Ploeng Si Rung, all aired in 2009, followed by Mongkut Dok Som (2010) as Rose and its companion Dok Som Si Thong (2011). Later credits include Nueng Dao Fah Diew (2018) as Chao Chom Phen, Pop Phi Chao and its sequel (2020), Songkhram Ngoen (2023), Winyan Phatsaya (2024), Mueang Kaew (2025) and Klin Malee (2026).

On film she appeared in Rak Thae Bot Thi 1 (1995), Klin See Lae Tee Praeng (1996) and Tha Fah Likhit (1997), and played Phra Thep Kasattri in The Legend of King Naresuan: Hostage of Hongsawadi (2007). She took the role of Nicha in the 2001 stage musical Ballang Mek, and has also written two books, published in 2006. She competed on the second season of The Mask Singer under the Devil mask in Group A.

In 2026 she appears in GMMTV’s Boys’ Love series WEIRDO-101 (แรงโน้มถ่วงระหว่างเรา) as Niran’s mother.

Namphueng Natharika Thamapreedanan plays Niran’s mother in WEIRDO-101 thirty-two years after her 1994 debut in Silamanee.

The series is a ten-episode GMMTV production with h8 Studio, broadcast on One31 and streamed on TrueVisions NOW in 2026. It is adapted from a Thai boys’ love novel by MostlyCloudy.

What I notice in her career is how little it depends on one kind of part. She began in presenting, moved through leading ladies and scene stealing supporters, and later took historical court roles, a stage musical and a singing contest. A parent in WEIRDO-101 is a quieter assignment than most of those, and I find it more interesting to watch an actor of this experience handle a small part with care than to watch her carry a whole series.
