Naphat Chitveerapat

Naphat Chitveerapat (Thai: ณภัทร จิตวีรภัทร), known by the nickname Paw (ป้อ) and also romanised Naphat Jitweerapat, is a Thai screenwriter and director working at GMMTV. He is credited on all twelve episodes of 23.5 (2024), and he sits at the centre of the most productive writing and directing network in Thai queer television.

His first credit is the screenplay for The Ugly Ghost (2014). In 2017 he directed 15+ Coming of Age and wrote both its story and its screenplay, the production he is still most widely associated with. From there his work is almost entirely writing for long-form series: A Gift to the People You Hate (2019, 10 episodes), The Effect (2019), Who Are You (2020, 18 episodes), Baker Boys (2021, 12 episodes), Remember 15 (2022, 12 episodes), Midnight Series: Dirty Laundry (2023, 6 episodes) and Home School (2023, 18 episodes).

He returned to directing with My Precious (2023), which he also wrote, and My Precious The Series (2024, 10 episodes). In 2024 he was credited on 23.5 and on all sixteen episodes of High School Frenemy, and took advisory credits on three further productions: executive consultant on Crazy Soft Power Love and consulting producer on Believe a Lust and Landscape of Us on Fire.

23.5 was written by a team

23.5 is often credited to him alone. The series carries three writing credits across every episode: Naphat Chitveerapat, Lalil Kittitanaphan and Nichaphat Buranadilok. The same trio is credited across all eighteen episodes of Home School (2023) and all sixteen of High School Frenemy (2024), and on Who Are You (2020) the third seat is held by Parkpoom Nuntalit instead. This is a standing writers’ room, not a solo author, and it has been working together for at least five years.

The partnership with Kanittha Kwunyoo

Reading his credit list against Kanittha Kwunyoo’s produces something neither page shows on its own. The two are credited together on ten separate productions across a decade:

BLGLFlix editorial view. This matters most for how 23.5 gets talked about. Thailand’s flagship Girls’ Love series is usually credited to GMMTV as an institution, or to its two leads, or to its director. It was written by a three-person room and directed by someone the senior writer had already made nine things with over ten years. That is not a studio assembling a team for a new category. That is an established writer-director partnership being handed a Girls’ Love brief and applying a working method they had spent a decade building on ghost films, coming-of-age comedy, Boys’ Love and general drama.

Our own read is that this is the least visible and most important fact about the series. Long partnerships are what let a production take risks, because nobody has to spend the shoot establishing trust. If you want to predict which Thai Girls’ Love series will hold together, look for a writer and a director who have already failed and recovered together somewhere else. And it is worth saying plainly: on a site like this one, and on most sites, the writers are the people most likely to go unnamed. There were three of them, and this is one.
