Pawis Sowsrion

Pawis Sowsrion (Thai: ภาวิส เสาร์ศรีอ่อน), known by the nickname Film (ฟิล์ม), born 11 April 1991 in Narathiwat, is a Thai director, screenwriter and co-producer who has spent his entire professional life at GMMTV. He directed and wrote all ten episodes of Crazy Love, Moo-Moo! (2026).

He joined GMMTV in 2015 and his first credits are as a writer: Wifi Society: Gray Secret (2015), Senior Secret Love (2016) and all twelve episodes of Secret Seven (2017). His debut as a director came in 2018 with YOUniverse, which he also wrote. The same year he directed the Pick and Rome and Pete and Kao segments of Our Skyy, again writing as well as directing.

What makes his record unusual is that he did not then stop doing the other jobs. He worked as assistant director on Theory of Love (2019) and its special episode Stand By Me (2020), on I’m Tee, Me Too (2020) and on Cherry Magic (2023). He wrote all thirteen episodes of Wolf (2019). He directed and wrote Girl2K (2021, 10 episodes) and directed Enchanté (2022, 10 episodes). In 2025 he took a second assistant director credit on Me and Thee, and in 2026 he is credited as editor on Thee and Thee alongside directing and writing Crazy Love, Moo-Moo!

He also appears on screen occasionally, always in small parts: Room Alone (2014), Secret Seven (2017) as Play’s boss, Wolf (2019) as a glasses shop assistant, and, with some self-awareness, Vice Versa (2022) in a role credited simply as Director. Outside series work he has directed music videos for GMMTV, including Love Score by SIZZY and Nanon.

BLGLFlix editorial view. Thai BL is usually explained through its actors, and its crews are treated as interchangeable. His record argues the opposite. In eleven years at one company he has been the writer, the assistant director, the second assistant director, the editor, the director and, once, a face in the background of someone else’s episode. He was on the floor for Theory of Love and Cherry Magic, two of the most fondly remembered things GMMTV has made, in the least glamorous job on set. Our own read is that this is where a studio’s house style actually lives. GMMTV series share a grammar, a way of blocking a confession scene, a tolerance for silence, a particular rhythm of comic relief, and that grammar is not written down anywhere. It is carried by people who have done every job on the set and absorbed how the last one worked. Worth noticing honestly too: he took a second assistant director credit in 2025, three years after directing a full series. We do not know why, and we are not going to guess, but it is a useful reminder that a Thai crew career is not a ladder climbed once.
