Four months after the series that made him internationally known, he registered a company in his own name. That is the part of a BL career nobody documents.

Poom Phuripan Sapsangsawat broke out as Joe in My Stand-In in 2024, half of the UpPoom pairing. In August of the same year he set up Phumi Patsorn 1997, leaving behind the Channel 8 arrangement he had worked under through years of lakorn.

Performers who break out on a platform series are in a brief window where their leverage is highest and the studio’s need is greatest. Very few use it to incorporate. Doing so changes what a career is: from being cast to negotiating, and from a fee to a share of what gets built around the name.

The rest of the record supports the picture of someone planning rather than drifting. A degree from Mahidol’s College of Sports Science and Technology, an Outstanding Rising Star award for Mongkut Karma in 2023 before the international breakthrough, a lead in Japan the following year, and a reunion with Up as Wayu in Love of Silom.
