BIOGRAPHY

Sirin Horwang (Thai: ศิริน หอวัง; born 5 July 1980 in Bangkok), known professionally as Cris Horwang, is a Thai actor with a career spanning more than two decades and thirty-five screen credits. Alongside acting she has worked as a model, singer, presenter, choreographer and ballet teacher.

She began in advertising at the age of fourteen. She attended Ruamrudee International School, studied dance at the Aree Dance Arts School in Bangkok and later trained in performing arts in the United States, including advanced ballet at the California Institute of the Arts. After returning to Bangkok she taught dance at the International School Bangkok and worked as a DJ at 104.5 Fat Radio, where she was on air alongside Koy Rachawin.

Her first film part was the supporting role of Ma Khin in E-Tim Tai Nae (2008), which brought a Kom Chad Luek nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her breakthrough was the lead role of Mei Li in the romantic comedy Bangkok Traffic (Love) Story in 2009, a film that earned more than 100 million baht. It arrived when she was twenty-nine, fifteen years after her first advertising work, so the route to it was long rather than sudden. Further film roles followed: Saturday Killer (2010), Rin in Headshot (2011), Mam in Seven Something (2012), Bee in Oh! My Ghost Khun Pee Chuay (2013) and Mook in The Life of Gravity (2014). In 2011 she also launched a handbag and accessories line called Secret Weapon.

On television she returned several times to the anthology Club Friday The Series between 2014 and 2019. She played Laila in Peun Ruk Peun Rissaya (2015) and Ornin in Mea Luang (2017), then was in the main cast of Daai Daeng (2019) as Susie. In 2020 she appeared in Bpai Hai Teung Duang Dao as Hemsuda and in Nuer Nai as Khem Petch. Rakkaew (2022) gave her the main role of Rungrong Naruubodee, and the same year she played Rin in Intern in My Heart. She also served as a mentor on The Face Thailand and was a guest judge in the third episode of the first season of Drag Race Thailand in 2018.

Her awards sit at either end of that path. For Bangkok Traffic (Love) Story she won Best Leading Actress at the 2009 Kom Chad Luek Awards and at the 2009 Suphannahong National Film Awards, and the Siam Dara Award for Best Leading Actress followed in 2010. Eleven years after her breakthrough she won Outstanding Leading Actress at the 35th TV Gold Awards in 2020, this time for work on the small screen. Her performance in Headshot earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 6th Asian Film Awards in 2012.

She is in the main cast of The Crow Club and appears across all sixteen episodes.

Cris Horwang joins The Crow Club as a main-cast actor whose film leads date back to 2009.

The series comes from One31, directed by Peter Nopachai Jayanama and produced by Change2561, and follows a secret society of outcasts who take on unusual assignments for mysterious clients.

Her filmography falls into two phases by medium. The cinema phase is compact: a lead in 2009, an appearance in 2011, leads in 2012, 2013 and 2014, which makes five films across six years. Television takes over from 2015 and gathers pace with Daai Daeng in 2019 and Rakkaew in 2022, and The Crow Club in 2026 brings the longest commitment of the set, sixteen episodes in the main cast. Seventeen years separate that role from Bangkok Traffic (Love) Story.

What stayed with me is how she keeps changing rooms: a dance studio, a radio booth, a film set, a mentor’s chair on The Face Thailand, and now a Boys’ Love ensemble. If you want to see why the 2009 film made her name, start there, then watch Rakkaew to see what the same screen presence does with a long television role.
