Ton Athiwad Sanidwong Na Ayoodthayaa
BIOGRAPHY
Ton Athiwad Sanidwong Na Ayoodthayaa (Thai: ต้น อธิวัฒน์ สนิทวงศ์ ณ อยุธยา; born March 17, 1968) is a Thai actor whose career on Thai television began in the late 1980s and has continued for nearly four decades. In the 2026 historical Boys’ Love series Love Upon a Time he plays Lord Phichaiphakdi, rendered in Thai credits as Phraya Phichaiyaphakdi, the highest-ranking noble in the Ayutthaya-era storyline and one of the figures holding the truth about Klao’s disappearance.
He was born in Bangkok on March 17, 1968 and trained not as an actor but behind the camera, taking a photography and cinematography course at Bangkok Technical College, later renamed Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep.
His screen career began in 1987-1988 and has run continuously since, mostly in supporting and character parts. Notable entries include Lah (1994), Kassatriya (2003), Sarb Krasue (2018) and Phuea Mae Phae Bo Dai (2023). His recent slate covers Pha Daeng Nang Ai (2025), Chao Khun Phi Kap E Nang Kham Duang (2025), Ubat Rak Ko Sawan (2026) and Heart Code (2026).
Uniform roles recur in his list: Police Lieutenant Chanin in Kul Pung Ha (1998), Inspector Mongkol in The Unexpected (2016) and Pol. Lt. Gen. Tech Achawasil in Petrichor (2024), a part he also played in the uncut edition. Period drama is the other strand, from Phraya Phiriya Saenpholphai in Sai Lohit (2018) and Lord Wiangsawan in the past timeline of Candle in the Sun (2019) to Lord Mungmueang in Spirits of the Mekong River (2022). He played Sakkada in Look Poochai Pan Dee (2014) and again in its second season, and in 2022 he took a guest part as Auea in the first episode of Cutie Pie. On film he appears as Tiao Liang in Edge of the Empire (2010). Recent television work includes Phraya Jamrun in My Sassy Wedding (2025), Athibodidirek in Dear Enemy (2026) and Burin, a minister, in Heart Code.
He is a Pisces, born in the year of the Monkey.
Ton Athiwad plays the highest-ranking noble of the Ayutthaya-era storyline in Love Upon a Time.
His surname, Sanidwong Na Ayudhya, is one of the royal-descendant surnames of Thailand’s Chakri dynasty, borne by descendants of Prince Wongsa Dhiraj Snid. The “Na Ayudhya” suffix refers to Ayutthaya, the former Siamese capital, where Love Upon a Time places his character across its twelve episode run.
In my view the useful thing about his list is how much variety it holds inside a narrow band of characters. The parts are mostly figures of authority, yet a police general, a minister, a village chief and a noble lord are not the same man, and the credits show him moving between them year after year. For a first look at the uniformed side, Petrichor is a reasonable start, and Candle in the Sun suits anyone who wants the costume side.
