What happens

After Moving Seats the Boy Behind Me (Japanese: 席替えしたら、どうやら後ろの男が俺のこと好きらしい, shortened to Sekisuki) is a Japanese boys' love television drama that began on BS Fuji on Friday 7 August 2026 and ran for eight episodes, ending with the finale on 25 September 2026. Each episode fills a thirty minute late night slot at 25:00, which is 1:00 am on Saturday. TV Aichi started its broadcast on 5 August, and FOD released the drama on the same day, two days before BS Fuji began. TVer offered the episodes after each BS Fuji broadcast, starting on 7 August.

The story begins with a seat change and follows two people with opposite personalities. They are Mayama (間山晴), an ordinary young man, and Asamiya Kosei (朝宮光星), who is popular with everyone around him. The drama is framed around the contrast between the two.

It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Mashiro Ito (ましろいと), published by Starts Publishing under its BeLuck Bunko label. Yoshika Nakayama (中山佳香) and Yudai Nara (奈良優大) direct, Kento Goto (後藤賢人) writes the scripts, and the production company is Resource Creation (リソースクリエイション).

Eito Konishi (小西詠斗) plays Mayama and Gennosuke (元之介) plays Asamiya Kosei. Ken Hiramoto (平本健) of DXTEEN plays 榊当麻, and Hayate Iijima (飯島颯) of SUPER★DRAGON plays 常川田光希. The theme song, NPC, is performed by SUPER★DRAGON, and the opening song, 白鯨, is performed by Kimi no Virus.

The cast also took part in a stage event for the drama at TGC teen 2026 Summer, held on 29 July 2026, a week before the first broadcast.

Several ways in, two days apart

The drama reached viewers through four platforms in a single week. TV Aichi and FOD began on Wednesday 5 August 2026, and BS Fuji and TVer followed on Friday 7 August. FOD carried the episodes first, BS Fuji broadcast them in the 25:00 Friday slot, and TVer offered catch up after the broadcast. The BS Fuji slot is listed as late night 1:00, the usual Japanese way of counting hours past midnight, so a Friday broadcast arrives in the early hours of Saturday.

A short run in a compact slot

Eight episodes of thirty minutes each tell the whole story, from the premiere on 7 August to the finale on 25 September 2026. The late night slot keeps each installment compact, and the weekly pattern gives the run a steady rhythm from the first Friday to the last.

Music from the cast's own groups

Two of the credited actors come from performing groups, and one of those groups sings the theme. Hayate Iijima is a member of SUPER★DRAGON, which performs NPC, and Ken Hiramoto belongs to DXTEEN. The opening song, 白鯨, is performed by Kimi no Virus. Having a group member in the cast while the same group sings the theme ties the screen performance to the soundtrack.

Source and staff

The drama adapts a novel by Mashiro Ito from the BeLuck Bunko label of Starts Publishing. Yoshika Nakayama and Yudai Nara share the direction, Kento Goto writes the scripts, and Resource Creation is the production company. Eito Konishi and Gennosuke play the two leads, Mayama and Asamiya Kosei, with Ken Hiramoto and Hayate Iijima beside them in the cast. The TGC teen 2026 Summer stage event on 29 July 2026 took place a week before the premiere.
