What happens

I Promised You the Moon is the second part of I Told Sunset About You, released under its own title in 2021. Teh, played by Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul, and Oh-aew, played by PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn, return as the leads, and the story moves from Phuket to Bangkok as both become university students.

Teh joins the Drama Club, and Oh-aew builds a group of new friends. Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang, known as Oab, plays Jai, a Drama Club member, Arachaporn Pokinpakorn plays Khim, the club president, and Naphat Vikairungroj plays Top. Oh-aew's friends are played by Kamolpipat Bunnag as Plug, Sarit Trilertvichien as Maengpong, Taninrat Wadsriwat as Q and Chayapak Tunprayoon as Auu.

Nadao Bangkok produced the series and Tossaphon Riantong directed it. It aired on LINE TV on Thursdays, with five episodes from 27 May to 24 June 2021. Karakade Norasethaporn, Tossaphon Riantong and Vasudhorn Piyaromna are credited as writers. The theme song is Safe Zone, and the soundtrack also includes Hold Me Tight and Fake News.

The second part follows how the relationship develops once both characters are university students in Bangkok, with a separate circle of friends around each of them. Teh and Oh-aew's history carries forward from the first part, so it helps to watch the earlier five episodes first, but the whole story is short enough to watch in a single weekend. Because the first part sets up the two leads, the second part spends its time on the new setting instead of repeating introductions.

What stands out to me about I Promised You the Moon is how plainly it is built as a second half. The first part ran for five episodes in autumn 2020 and the second part for five episodes in spring 2021, so the two together make ten episodes across two settings, Phuket and Bangkok. The second part was first announced as Part 2 and then given its own title, which means a viewer who searches for either name is looking for the same story.

The release schedule is the clearest structural fact. I Told Sunset About You finished on 19 November 2020 and this part began on 27 May 2021, 189 days later, about six months. Both parts aired weekly on Thursdays on LINE TV. The break in the calendar lines up with the break in the story, which jumps from school life to university life.

The leads stay the same, so the supporting cast carries the new setting. The Drama Club group of Jai, Khim and Top gives Teh a world of his own, and Oh-aew's friends Plug, Maengpong, Q and Auu give him one too, so each lead now has a separate social circle. Oab, who plays Jai, has a page of his own.

One more structural detail concerns who shaped the script. Naruebet Kuno directed the first part and Tossaphon Riantong directed the second, and Tossaphon is also one of the three credited writers, so the sequel was directed by someone who helped write it. The music has its own identity too, with Safe Zone as the theme song, and that gives the later episodes a sound that the first part does not share.

Billkin and PP are the center of the story and keep the pairing from the first part intact; their Billkin and PP pages list both parts together. If you are new to the pair, begin with the first part, then continue here. The five episodes are short, and the sequel rewards a viewer who remembers where Teh and Oh-aew started.
