SYNOPSIS

ChermChey (เฉิ่มเชย; RTGS: Choem Choei) is a 2026 Thai boys' love romantic comedy-drama built around the cosy neighbourhood bar that gives the series its name. Intha (Koraphat Lamnoi) owns that bar: a confident, warm-hearted man who trusts his gut, says exactly what he means and goes after what he wants without a second thought. Akara (Pharinyakorn Khansawa), known to everyone as Eung, is his opposite, a young man left hollowed out by a partner's betrayal and worn thin by one disappointment too many. Out of options and half out of hope, Akara makes a wish at a temple to give love one final chance, and Intha walks into his life almost the moment he opens his eyes.

Intha pursues him openly and shamelessly, but Akara cannot bring himself to unlock a door that has already been kicked in once. Circumstance keeps pushing the two together anyway: Akara ends up working around the ChermChey bar, where late-night drinks, closing shifts and small unasked-for kindnesses do what grand gestures never could. Orbiting the pair is a lively ensemble of regulars, staff and old friends, Bom (Phasakorn Ratnaliam), A-Ten (Chintub Duangkaew), Nok (Peerada Namwong), Aiyaret (Karn Kritsanaphan), Chennai (Thanakrit Chiamchunya), Lalit (Max Kornthas Rujeerattanavorapan), Nine (Natasit Uareksit), Tonhon (Thanaphum Sestasittikul), Chonlathee (Worapong Walor), Araya (Sorntast Buangam), Ong (Krittapod Bunyamanee) and Master (Harit Buayoi), each of them nudging the two men toward, or away from, an answer neither is ready to give out loud.

Produced by Copy A Bangkok in partnership with Domundi TV and directed by Cheewin Thanamin Wongskulphat, whose credits include Bed Friend, the ten-episode series adapts Nottakorn's Thai web novel of the same title. It premiered on TrueVisions Now on 19 May 2026 and aired weekly on Tuesdays at 20:00 ICT through 14 July 2026, with international streaming on GagaOOLala. It also marks a fourth on-screen outing for the TutorYim pairing, after Cutie Pie, The Middleman's Love and Bed Friend. The register is deliberately unhurried and low-stakes: no villains, no contrived separations, just two adults slowly learning to be gentle with one another. ChermChey is a healing romance about second chances and the quiet courage it takes to try again.

EDITOR’S VERDICT

7/10

ChermChey leans on two proven assets: the well-established TutorYim chemistry and a source novel popular enough to draw a built-in audience. It trades high-concept hooks for a warmer, healing-after-heartbreak romance set almost entirely around one cozy bar.

The Pairing

Yim Pharinyakorn Khansawa plays the bruised, guarded Akara, while Tutor Koraphat Lamnoi plays the confident bar owner Intha, who refuses to give up on him. After four years and three prior projects together, Cutie Pie, The Middleman's Love and Bed Friend, the duo's ease on screen remains the show's biggest draw, carrying scenes that might otherwise feel slight.

The chemistry works best in the quiet, domestic stretches: closing up the bar together, sharing a late drink, small unprompted acts of care. It is a gentler register than the pair's earlier, more melodramatic work, and it suits both actors.

What to Expect

  • Healing rom-com: heartbreak, second chances and slow-built comfort take priority over plot twists or melodrama.
  • Director pedigree: Cheewin Thanamin Wongskulphat, who also directed Bed Friend, keeps the pacing unhurried and character-focused.
  • Cozy, bar-set tone: the ChermChey bar anchors a relaxed, hangout-style romance with a large, warm supporting ensemble.

The Verdict

ChermChey is a comfortable, well-cast healing BL that rewards existing TutorYim fans and viewers who prefer their romance gentle and grounded over eventful. It rarely surprises, but it is not really trying to, the pleasure here is watching two familiar faces settle into something calmer.

Final Score: 7/10
