Fake Fact Lips

Fake Fact Lips (フェイクファクトリップス) is a 2026 Japanese BL romantic comedy whose official tagline says it all: "the most childish showdown in history begins with a fake kiss." Adapted from Suehiro Machi's hit manga, it is directed by Kei Taguchi (with Takeshi Matsuura helming episodes 3 and 4) from scripts by Natsume Karasuma, running ten roughly 30-minute episodes on BS Fuji in spring 2026, with international streaming on iQIYI and GagaOOLala.

It stars Kaito Hori (Kamen Rider, The Journey to Killing You) as Ryo Yotsuya, the cool ace of Sales Division 1, and Yusuke Sato (Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss!) as Zen Shido, the relentless genius of Division 2. They have been arch-rivals since high school, so being hired by the same company only pours fuel on the fire.

One night, after yet another loss, a drunken conversation about how hopeless they both are at romance spirals into their most ridiculous bet yet: whoever makes the other fall in love first wins. What follows is a strategic game of pretend romance between two men who are flawless at work and clumsy at love. The catch nobody planned for: who actually falls first?

Around the leads, the cast features Amon Hirai as Yuya Futami (Ryo and Zen's colleague), Yutaro Zaitsu as Yuma Onishi (Zen's junior colleague), Ken Shimazu as Riku Mochida (Ryo's college classmate), and Asahi Amano as Shota Higashino, while Ren Fujii and Ibuki Horiguchi play the high-school versions of Ryo and Zen. Built on a beloved manga that already has a sequel (Fake Fact Lips BREAK), the series turns workplace pride, tsundere energy and one fake kiss into a slow-burn battle where losing your heart is the only way to win.
