BIOGRAPHY

Kaito Hori (Japanese: 堀海登; born May 30, 1999) is a Japanese actor signed to MKroom. He was born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.

He began his television career in the Nippon TV drama Saki ni Umareta Dake no Boku (2017) and went on to build a career spanning both television and 2.5D stage productions, including the long-running Ensemble Stars! on Stage series (2018-2019), where he originated the role of Kanata Shinkai across multiple stage chapters.

His subsequent work includes the TV Asahi drama Azatokute Nani ga Warui no? (2022-2023) as Tetsuya Nakamachi, the BL film A Man Who Defies the World of BL (2021) as Haruhiko, the streaming series Mr. Sahara & Toki-kun (2023) and Cosmetic Playlover (2024), and the Fuji TV/Tokai TV drama Saiko no Obahan Nakajima Haruko (2025) as Ryu Tachibana. In 2026 he took the lead role of Ryo Yotsuya in the boys’ love drama Fake Fact Lips, adapted from Machi Suehiro’s manga of the same name, opposite Yusuke Sato as Zen Shido.

BLGLFlix editorial view

He originated a role in a stage series that has been running for years, which means everyone after him is measured against what he did.

Kaito Hori (堀海登), born 30 May 1999 in Saitama, is signed to MKroom, began on television in 2017, and created the part of Kanata Shinkai in the long running Ensemble Stars! stage productions. On this site he appears in The Journey to Killing You in 2025 and Fake Fact Lips in 2026.

Originating a role in Japanese stage adaptation work is a specific credit with real weight. The character existed as a drawing and a voice before, and the first actor to put it in a body decides how it stands, how it moves and how it sounds out loud. Every subsequent cast inherits those decisions, and audiences compare.

Two catalogue credits in consecutive years also make him one of the few Japanese performers here appearing in more than one production this site covers, which usually means somebody is being cast rather than discovered.

His birth date, birthplace, agency, dated debut and three verified public accounts are all documented, which is what a Japanese agency profile reliably produces.
