The Grim Lover

The Grim Lover is a Thai fantasy romance built on an unusual rescue. Won, played by Naret Promphaopun, is an anesthesiologist, a man whose daily work is keeping people safely on the right side of consciousness. His life changes when Death steps into it in person. The Grim Reaper he meets is called Sibsi and is played by Krittin Kitjaruwannakul. Sibsi has the face of the partner Won lost, and he keeps appearing at the moments when Won's life is in danger.

What starts as a series of interventions turns into a relationship that neither of them is supposed to have. A reaper who claims lives is now keeping one close, and the story places love and fate in direct conflict. Won and Sibsi slowly work out that their fates are tied together, and the rules that govern death in this world begin to press on both of them. The mystery thread that runs beside the romance gives the fantasy a reason to keep moving from episode to episode.

Two more characters sit close to the center. Phusanu Wongsavanischakorn plays Oscar and Napat Na Ranong plays Chada, and both are credited as principal players across the run, so the central pair are not alone on screen. Natthaphong Wongkaweepairod directs, and the script adapts a web novel. The Thai title is รักลืมตาย, and the series is made for television and an online platform rather than for YouTube alone.
