Sakon Tiacharoen, the Thai director of Mr.Kill (2026)

Sakon Tiacharoen

BIOGRAPHY

Sakon Tiacharoen (Thai: สกล เตียเจริญ), known by the nickname Chic (ฉิก), is a Thai director and screenwriter. He directs Mr.Kill (2026) and Match Point (2026), and his boys’ love work has an unusually consistent shape to it: most of it is built around sport.

He began in film. He wrote and directed Love Julinsee (2011), a teenage romance set around a music festival, and wrote and directed Spooky in Thailand (2014). He moved into television with The School (2015, 10 episodes) and the London-set London Sweeties (2019), then took on the forty-episode Fleet of Time (2019) and the sixteen-episode I Need Romance (2021), a remake.

The sports run

From 2022 his BL work follows a clear line, and each title is organised around a different discipline:

  • Fahlanruk (2022, 12 episodes), a university story with sport and music at its centre
  • Twins (2023, 12 episodes), built on volleyball and jiu-jitsu
  • Match Point (2026, 10 episodes), a tennis rivalry that turns into something else
  • Gunshot, undated on the record

Outside the genre he directed the lakorn My Undercover Chef (2023, 16 episodes) and Leap Day (2025, 12 episodes), a suspense series. In 2025 he produced Dare You to Death, and in 2026 he directs Mr.Kill, a ten-episode series recorded with a bromance classification rather than a BL one.

BLGLFlix editorial view. Sports BL gets treated as a costume choice, a reason to put young men in shorts, and that reading undersells what the setting actually does for a script. A sports premise hands a BL writer three things that are otherwise hard to come by. It gives two characters a legitimate, unforced reason to be in each other’s company every day for months. It supplies a plot engine that runs on something other than the relationship, so the story has somewhere to go in the episodes where the romance cannot advance. And it converts rivalry into a structure the audience already knows how to read, which lets antagonism carry feeling without anybody having to say so. His run of four sports titles across three different disciplines suggests this is a deliberate method rather than a preference for a look. Our own read is that it is one of the more durable formulas in the genre, and that the reason so many BL series sag in their middle episodes is precisely that they have no equivalent of a season to get through.
