What happens

Kay (Dew Jirawat) draws comics. Years ago he published a run of them under a pen name, and now people are dying in ways that reproduce his pages panel for panel. The name he signed those books with, Mr. Kill, is the strongest lead the police have, and the inspector holding it is Phat (Tee Teeradech), who has to work alongside the man his own case points at. Around the two of them are Praew (Singha Luangsuntorn), Nop (Neo Trai Nimtawat), Prim (Mata Pattariyakorn Luangkungwankij) and Thun (Off Jumpol Adulkittiporn).

Because the killings reproduce drawn pages, the case turns on reading those pages in sequence, and the man who drew them is both the inspector's best source of insight and the person his investigation points towards. That is the tension the series is built on: an uneasy working alliance between a suspect and the detective who needs him.

GMMTV presents the series as a thriller with a bromance pairing. The comic inside the story is a device written for the series and not a real published title. Thitipong Chaisati is credited with the screenplay across all ten episodes, Sakon Tiacharoen directs, Tanatat Chaiyaat composed, and Keng Kwang Kang co-produced outside GMMTV's usual in-house pipeline. Ten episodes of 48 minutes ran Tuesdays at 20:30 on GMM 25 from 7 July to 8 September 2026, reaching the oneD app an hour later the same night.

Mr.Kill is a Thai mystery thriller in which a comic artist's old pages become the blueprint for a run of killings.

Dew Jirawat and Tee Teeradech are paired as the artist and the inspector, casting that BL audiences know well, and GMMTV builds a thriller around them instead of a romance. The premise carries the series: the pen name Kay once published under becomes the strongest lead the police have against him.

The comic inside the story is a device written for the series, so there is no real title to read. Thitipong Chaisati wrote all ten episodes, Sakon Tiacharoen directed, and Keng Kwang Kang co-produced outside GMMTV's usual in-house pipeline.

Ten episodes of 48 minutes aired on GMM 25 from 7 July to 8 September 2026, and filming ran until 11 August, so the closing episodes were still being shot while the opening ones went out.

Ten episodes of 48 minutes come to 480 minutes, and the series reached viewers on two clocks: Tuesdays at 20:30 on GMM 25, and an hour later on the oneD app, so the same weekly episode served a television audience and a streaming audience on the same night.

The music changes as the case does. Three ending themes were issued across the run: "True Color", sung by both leads, for episodes one to five, "Mr. K" by Dew Jirawat for episodes six to eight, and "Our Name" by Tee Teeradech for episode nine, so each stretch of the season closes on a different voice.

The pairing brings some history with it. Tee Teeradech appeared as Mick in the ensemble romance We Are in 2024, and here he leads a thriller instead. The series suits viewers who like crime mysteries built on an unusual conceit, a comic that becomes a blueprint, and who enjoy watching a suspect and a detective work out a wary partnership.

Themes

The Thai title, มังงะสั่งตาย, puts the comic in the subject position: it is the manga that orders the killing. The English title points somewhere else entirely, at a man, or at least at the name a man once worked under. Between those two titles the series sets out its actual question, whether the guilt sits with the page or with the hand that drew it.

A pen name is normally a device for putting distance between a person and his work, and here it does the opposite. Choosing to sign under another name is exactly what makes the connection legible to somebody else later, so anonymity taken up freely converts into identification imposed from outside.

The pairing works because the two men do versions of the same job. A comic artist builds violence panel by panel and asks a reader to infer what happened in the gaps between frames. An investigation does that as well, from photographs, timelines and gaps of its own. Artist and inspector are both professional readers of images in sequence. They only disagree about who the author is.

Interesting facts

  • Filming ran until 11 August 2026, more than a month after the 7 July premiere, so later episodes were still in production while the opening ones were going out on GMM 25.
  • Three ending themes were issued through GMMTV Records: โลกขาวดำ (True Color) by Dew Jirawat and Tee Teeradech for episodes 1 to 5, released 6 July 2026; ถ้าสบตา (Mr. K) by Dew Jirawat for episodes 6 to 8, released 4 August; and เสียงของเงา (Our Name) by Tee Teeradech for episode 9, released 1 September.
  • The Thai title of the first of those songs translates as a black and white world, which is the medium the story's comic artist works in.

How it was made

GMMTV announced the project on 25 November 2025 at its GMMTV 2026: Magic Vibes Maximized line-up event, naming Dew Jirawat and Tee Teeradech on the same day. Principal photography began on 31 March 2026. Tanatat Chaiyaat is the composer, and the co-producing studio's fuller name is Keng Kwang Kang Waisai.
