Sakon Tiacharoen
BIOGRAPHY
Sakon Tiacharoen (Thai: สกล เตียเจริญ), known by the nickname Chic (ฉิก), is a Thai director and screenwriter. He directs Mr.Kill (2026) and Match Point (2026), and most of his boys’ love work is built around sport.
He began in film. He wrote and directed Love Julinsee (2011), a film set around a music festival. He also wrote and directed Spooky in Thailand (2014). He moved into television with The School (2015, 10 episodes) and the London-set London Sweeties (2019). Then came the forty-episode Fleet of Time (2019) and the sixteen-episode I Need Romance (2021), a remake.
The sports run
From 2022 his BL work includes these titles:
- Fahlanruk (2022, 12 episodes), a university story with sport and music at its centre
- Twins (2023, 12 episodes), built on volleyball and jiu-jitsu
- Match Point (2026, 10 episodes), a tennis rivalry that turns into something else
- Gunshot
Twins follows identical brothers who were raised apart and chose different sports, one volleyball and the other jiu-jitsu. When one of them is hurt, the other steps into his place on the university volleyball team. Frame Ritchanon Sriprasitdacha plays both brothers. Ryan Panya McShane and Mimi Ruethaiphat are among the cast. The series aired on Channel 3 HD from November 2023 to January 2024.
Outside the genre he directed the lakorn My Undercover Chef (2023, 16 episodes) and Leap Day (2025, 12 episodes), a suspense series. In 2025 he produced Dare You to Death, and in 2026 he directs Mr.Kill, a ten-episode series classified as bromance rather than BL.
Mr.Kill is a mystery thriller made by GMMTV with Keng Kwang Kang Waisai. It premiered on 7 July 2026 on GMM 25 and streams on the oneD app. Filming began on 31 March 2026. Jirawat Sutivanichsak plays Kay, a manga writer with a painful past. Teeradech Vitheepanich plays Phat, an idealistic young police officer. A murder that copies scenes from an underground manga called Nekros pulls the two into an investigation, and their different ideas of justice pull them apart until they find that both lives connect to one old tragedy. Trai Nimtawat and Jumpol Adulkittiporn are in the supporting cast.
Three of his boys’ love titles take a sport as their setting, and each uses a different one.
Fahlanruk (2022) pairs sport with university life and music, and Twins (2023) is built on volleyball and jiu-jitsu. Match Point (2026) is set in tennis, framed as a rivalry between its two leads.
His 2026 thriller Mr.Kill leaves that setting behind. It runs ten episodes and is classified as bromance rather than BL.
The sports titles come in two bursts. Fahlanruk and Twins fall in consecutive years, 2022 and 2023. Match Point returns to the setting in 2026, with Leap Day and the producer credit on Dare You to Death filling 2025. The episode orders stay in a narrow band, from ten to twelve, while the television work before them went as long as forty episodes with Fleet of Time.
In my view the sport is what gives his stories their shape. A match has a score and an opponent, so the romance always has somewhere to go between scenes. Twins shows the method at its most inventive because the swapped identity and the two disciplines give the plot two engines at once. To see his range I would watch Twins first and Mr.Kill second, because the distance between them shows how far he moves from a sports romance to a dark mystery.
