At least five of Suchada Poonpattanasuk’s credits are billed as somebody’s mother rather than under a character name of her own.

The billed roles include Meen’s mother, Boum’s mother, Tian’s mother, Charn’s mother and Ongsa’s mother, and Pimporn, who is Hong’s mother. Charn’s mother came in 2023 and Ongsa’s mother in 2024, so she played a mother in a boys’ love and a girls’ love series within roughly a year.

Her credits change shape over time. The first film work is concentrated early, with Phobia 2 and 2022 Tsunami in 2009, then Last Summer and Deleted in 2013 and ThirTEEN Terrors in 2014, while the series runs lengthen from seventeen episodes in 2007 to twenty-six in 2015, twenty-eight in 2018 and forty-four in 2022. The year 2022 is the heaviest in screen time, since Morlam Bodyguard and A Tale of Ylang Ylang together come to seventy-six episodes. Her queer titles sit close together, with You Are My Missing Piece in 2022, Laws of Attraction and Home School in 2023 and 23.5 in 2024, four titles across three years, and the most recent credit on the list, Rearrange in 2025, follows them.

In my view the mother roles deserve more attention than their billing suggests. A part named for the child, such as Charn’s mother or Ongsa’s mother, exists to show where the young leads come from, and playing one in a boys’ love series and another in a girls’ love series within about a year is a steady piece of work.

What stayed with me is the length of her television runs. Forty four episodes of Morlam Bodyguard, thirty two of A Tale of Ylang Ylang and twenty eight of Kom Faek ask an actor to stay consistent for months. I would start with 23.5, where she is present in all twelve episodes, and then go to Laws of Attraction to see the same kind of role at a smaller size.
