Tipnaree Weerawatnodom, known as Namtan, born 1 July 1996 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, started as a television presenter in 2013 and moved into acting afterwards. She leads Pluto, the 2024 GMMTV girls love series, and the pairing at its centre is recorded here as NamtanFilm.

Presenting is an underrated route into Thai drama and a genuinely useful apprenticeship. A host works live, without a second take, reading a room and holding a camera’s attention with nothing written for them. Actors who come from it tend to be comfortable in exactly the situations that expose people trained only in scripted work.

She also holds a degree in acting and directing from Srinakharinwirot’s Faculty of Fine Arts, which puts her in the small group on this site with formal training in the profession. Her performance in Who Are You drew a Best Actress nomination at the Asian Television Awards in 2020.

That combination, a trained actor with live television experience leading a girls love series for the largest studio in the country, is worth noticing in a form that is often described as inexperienced by default.
