Magic Move

Magic Move (Thai: ทำนายทายรัก; RTGS: Thamnai Thai Rak, roughly "Foretelling Love") is a 2026 Thai boys' love romantic comedy, and it starts with a bluff. Ritt (Deam Wutthiphat Rungcharoenareechit) is a final-year architecture student building his thesis around rune stones, and one night at his friend's Magic Move bar he begins reading them for customers half as a joke. The readings land. They keep landing, uncannily so, and within days he has a campus reputation he never meant to build. Among the people that reputation pulls toward him is Itthi (Ball Napatsak Ekphiphatthana), heir to a real-estate fortune, who has spent years quietly searching for the childhood friend he once promised himself to.

Rather than admit that the stones told him nothing, Ritt lets Itthi believe the search is over and steps into the missing boy's shoes. It is meant to be a small lie with a short shelf life. Instead it becomes a relationship, and then it becomes real. The problem is that the actual childhood friend still exists: Suea (Shino Peraphat Dhanarattananont) comes home from a failed bid at Korean stardom, and every fortune Ritt ever told starts turning back on him at once. Circling that triangle are friends and family with their own stakes in how it breaks, Pure (Pitchawat Wisittarakul), Pitcha (Patpong Loymaping), Ployploen (Yaninsinee Chotisuriyaphong), Phum (Sorrawit Kaewprasert) and Noah (Rattaphon Thepmanee), plus the grandparents whose expectations quietly define what Itthi is permitted to want.

Directed by Nob Sathanapong Limwongthong for Moonlight Glow, the ten-episode series aired Tuesdays on One31 from April 21 to June 23, 2026, streaming internationally on iQIYI. No source novel has been announced; the screenplay appears to be original. The register stays deliberately light and a little chaotic, mistaken identity, white lies and rom-com misdirection rather than melodrama, but the rune stones give the show something to argue with. If a prophecy only comes true because someone rearranged their whole life to make it come true, was it ever a prophecy at all? Magic Move keeps circling that question through campus comedy, family money and one increasingly unsustainable lie, and keeps declining to answer it until it absolutely has to.
