Their conversation takes place in typed messages, and the names complete the planetary joke: Earth is the account, Sun is the classmate it writes to. The Thai edition came out from everY in 2018, six years before the series reached screens.

A school romance built on one assumption left uncorrected.

The novel is quieter than the series. GMMTV's adaptation leans into the comedy of the misunderstanding and gives the surrounding classmates their own threads; the book stays much closer to Ongsa, and the effect is less farce and more the specific discomfort of having built something real on a premise you cannot correct without losing it.

What holds it together is that Ongsa is not written as scheming. She is written as someone who did not plan any of this and cannot find the moment to stop it, which is a harder and more recognisable thing.

The names do quiet work. Ongsa writes as Earth and writes to Sun, so the title's astronomy is built into the two sides of every message, and the reader tracks the relationship as a matter of orbit and distance. That arrangement keeps the stakes small and personal: there is no rival, no scheme, only a conversation that continues and a person deciding each day whether today is the day to correct it.

Themes

An axial tilt is a property of one body rather than a relationship between two. The angle belongs to the planet itself, and it would still be there with nothing else in the sky. Read back into the novel, the figure names something that belongs to Ongsa alone: nothing is being done to her, and the deviation that changes everything is her own.

A few degrees is a very small departure with very large consequences, and the book applies that proportion to a single assumption left uncorrected in a single conversation.
