Journey With You
SYNOPSIS
Yin Qi (Tang Bide), Fifth Prince of Xing, has spent three years on the frontier, far enough from the capital to be forgotten and useful enough to stay alive. A secret letter calls him home, and he goes, with Pei Yanzhi (Wang Jinghan), the companion who has stood at his shoulder for as long as either of them can remember, riding beside him. The summons is bait. What waits for the two men in the palace is a trap laid with patience, and it costs Yin Qi everything: dying with his blood on the stones, he finally understands what the man next to him has always meant to him, far too late to say it. Then he opens his eyes three years earlier, whole, in a body that has not yet failed anyone, carrying the memory of a future nobody else has lived.
The second life is a race. Yin Qi knows the shape of the conspiracy now, and he knows who built it: his elder half-brother Yin Zhou (Duan Tongzhou), the First Prince, whose patience is his sharpest weapon. Rewriting the outcome means keeping Pei Yanzhi off the path that killed him without explaining why, dismantling Yin Zhou's plans before they are laid, and untangling the loyalties of Wei Ziming (Li Youcheng), whose own storyline runs alongside the central romance and refuses to resolve into a simple allegiance. Court and family close in from every side, Yin Heshu (Wang Yuezhi) among the princes, the strategist Lin Xianyue (Zhao Jiayi) reading the board, the loyal aide Su He (Du Yiheng) holding the line, and each secret Yin Qi pulls loose turns out to be tied to the man he most wants to protect.
Journey With You (与君同) is a Chinese historical-fantasy BL directed by Reese for The One Studio: eight episodes running roughly forty-four to fifty-eight minutes, released weekly on Fridays on GagaOOLala from 8 May 2026 to its 19 June finale, with English subtitles internationally. Unusually for the genre, it is an original screenplay rather than a danmei adaptation, and the invented Xing Dynasty setting lets the writers build palace politics to fit the plot instead of the other way round. The tone is duty-heavy rather than sweet, regret, sacrifice and the question of whether a fate can actually be rewritten, and the answer it reaches is left for the finale.
