BIOGRAPHY
Poothanate Hongmanop (Thai: ภูธเนศ หงษ์มานพ; born July 16, 1976), nicknamed Captain, is a Thai actor and director. He attended Tasaneeyavorn Kindergarten and Kasetsart University Demonstration School before Thai-German Preparatory Engineering School, and holds a degree from the Faculty of Communication Arts at Bangkok University.
He made his acting debut in 1993 in the film Skirts & Shorts as Nok-lek, going on to appear in dozens of Thai films and television dramas including High School Life 2, Middle School Life, Master of the Storm, E-Sa, Devil’s Rose, Behind the Mask, Spare Me Your Mercy and Love Upon a Time. He also directed the 2018 drama Rim Fung Nam. He won Best Supporting Actor at the Star Entertainment Awards 2008 and Best Male Lead Actor at the 2nd Naraj Awards.
In 2026 he played Ko Krittin’s father in the GMMTV coming-of-age BL series When Oranges Fall, alongside Sujira Arunpipat as Ko Krittin’s mother.
