BIOGRAPHY
Rachanun Mahawan (Thai: รชานันท์ มหาวรรณ์; born July 14, 2000), known professionally by her nickname Film, is a Thai actor signed to GMMTV. She entered the entertainment industry in 2019 as one of the two winners of the Clean & Clear x GMMTV star search competition.
Mahawan completed a degree at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and launched her screen career with a supporting role in the 2020 series Dark Blue Kiss, going on to appear in 2gether: The Series (2020), Home School (2023), and My Precious (2023).
In 2024, Mahawan took the lead role of May in the Thai Girls’ Love drama Pluto, opposite Tipnaree Weerawatnodom. Their on-screen pairing, known as NamtanFilm, drew major regional recognition, including the Outstanding Asian Star award at the 20th Seoul International Drama Awards and a Girls’ Love Actress of the Year win at the FEED x Khaosod Awards 2025.

Rachanun Mahawan won it at the 20th edition for her work as May in Pluto, opposite Tipnaree Weerawatnodom. The ContentAsia Viewers’ Choice award followed in 2025, along with the FEED x Khaosod prize for Girls’ Love Actress of the Year, and Best Couple at the Y Universe Awards shared with her co-lead.
Set that beside the Golden Bell that Taiwan’s Zaizai Lin won for a GL role and a pattern appears: the awards that recognise this material are increasingly the mainstream regional ones rather than genre-specific ceremonies. GL is a small fraction of what gets made and a disproportionate share of what gets honoured.
She came in through a skincare brand’s talent search with GMMTV in 2019, which is a stranger door than a survival show and a common one in Thailand, then built up through Dark Blue Kiss, 2gether, Home School and My Precious before the lead.
