Pluto the Series

Pluto (Thai title: นิทาน ดวงดาว ความรัก, romanized as Nithan Duangdao Khwam Rak) is a 2024 Thai Girls' Love drama produced by GMMTV, released as the studio's second GL series after 23.5 and broadcast in twelve episodes on GMM25 and Viu between October 2024 and January 2025. Oaboom Ingsamug (Tipnaree Weerawatnodom) is the polished, capable twin, days away from a marriage her whole family approves of. Ai-oon (Tipnaree Weerawatnodom), her quieter sister in the same dual role, has spent a lifetime a step behind her. When a car accident on the night of the wedding leaves Oaboom in a coma, the family asks Ai-oon for something no one should have to give: wear her sister's face long enough to end a relationship Oaboom had kept hidden from everyone, her fiancé included.

The woman on the other side of that secret is May (Rachanun Mahawan), who is blind and has no way of seeing that the person at her door is not the one who left. What was meant to be a single clean goodbye keeps getting postponed. The longer Ai-oon stays, the more she sees of the life her sister never let the family witness, and the harder it becomes to tell where the performance ends and she begins. Pang (Rutricha Phapakithi) and Phim (Ploynira Hiruntaveesin) circle the deception from the edges of the friend group, while Duean (Duangdao Jarujinda) anchors a household that starts to sense something is off long before anyone says it aloud. Every day Ai-oon keeps the secret buys her time and costs her more.

Adapted from a novel by Chao Planoy, with a screenplay by Kusolin Mekviphat and Bangpahn Homjan and direction from the Snap25 team, Pluto builds its romance out of guilt, grief and the impossible position of being loved under someone else's name. The identity-swap premise gives the series a mystery-drama spine that is rare in the GL space, but the show never lets the mechanism outrun the feeling: its real subject is what it costs to be seen as yourself. May's blindness drives the deception without ever being played for pity. The series brought NamtanFilm, the pairing of Tipnaree Weerawatnodom and Rachanun Mahawan, wide regional recognition, including a Best Couple win at the Y Universe Awards 2025, and confirmed GMMTV's Girls' Love slate as more than an experiment.
