Love Upon a Time

Love Upon a Time (ภพเธอ; RTGS: Phop Thoe) is a 2026 Thai boys' love drama that runs in two eras at once, and its defining device is that every lead plays two people: one in the present day, one in the Ayutthaya Kingdom four centuries earlier. Nakun Phattanatada (JJ Radchapon Phornpinit) is a twenty-year-old student who believes in evidence and very little else, until he wakes four hundred years in the past with no idea how he got there and no way back. The villagers take him for Klao (JJ Radchapon Phornpinit), a young man who vanished after his father was branded a criminal and who happens to wear Nakun's face. Nakun lets them believe it. The mistake buys him food, shelter and time to work out what has happened to him.

What it does not buy him is the trust of Phop (Net Siraphop Manithikhun), Klao's closest friend, who has known him since childhood and can tell at a glance that the man wearing that face is a stranger. Phop watches, tests and waits, and the longer he does it, the harder the watching becomes for both of them. In the present day his counterpart is a man named Tinnaphop. A second pairing runs alongside them: Jom (Latte Thanutchon Chankaewarmorn) and Kaew (Kim Pongsaton Sittipan), whose modern selves are Thee and Pun. Around all four move Chuay (Tonnam Piamchon Damrongsunthornchai), Sai (March Manussita Jarusasi), Prayong (Namfon Sueangsuda Lawanprasert) and High Lord Pichayabhakdi (Ton Athiwad Sanidwong Na Ayoodthayaa), each holding a piece of why Klao disappeared and why nobody in the village will say his father's name out loud.

Adapted from the boys' love novel by littlebbear96 and directed by Panuwat Inthawat, the twelve-episode series was produced by Domundi TV with Mandee Work and aired on Workpoint TV every Friday at 21:30 ICT from 27 March to 12 June 2026, with an extended streaming edition on iQIYI. On screen the two couples are known as NetJJ and LatteKim. The historical setting is unusual for the genre and it earns its place: rank, rumour and a family's disgrace decide what these men are allowed to want, and the romance is built on that pressure rather than draped over it. The longer Nakun stays, the less he wants to leave, and the closer he comes to the answer, the clearer it becomes that going home may cost him the only person who ever saw through him.
